Associate Veterinarian

About the Role

Lava Rock Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our growing privately owned urgent care practice in St. George, Utah.

Our hospital provides a unique mix of scheduled appointments, same-day urgent care, and walk-in cases. This position is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys case variety, practicing quality medicine, and working alongside an experienced and collaborative support team.

What We're Looking For

  • DVM or equivalent degree

  • Current or eligible Utah veterinary license

  • Strong communication and client education skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • $120,000–$140,000 annual salary DOE

Veterinary Technician

About the Role

Our veterinary technicians are actively involved in patient care and work closely with our veterinarian throughout the day.

This is a great role for an experienced technician who enjoys urgent cases, variety, client education, and being part of a collaborative medical team. You'll see a wide range of cases and have opportunities to continue strengthening your technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduled appointments, urgent cases, and walk-ins

  • Obtain patient histories and assist with patient triage

  • Perform venipuncture and catheter placement

  • Assist with diagnostic testing and treatments

  • Monitor hospitalized and surgical patients

  • Assist with anesthesia and surgical procedures

  • Administer medications and treatments as directed

  • Provide client education and discharge instructions

  • Maintain accurate medical records

  • Support patient follow-up and technician rechecks

  • Work collaboratively with the veterinarian and hospital team

What We're Looking For

  • Previous veterinary technician experience preferred

  • CVT credentials are valued but not required

  • Strong technical and patient handling skills

  • Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Willingness to learn and take initiative

  • Availability for rotating weekends

Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative

About the Role

Our reception team is the first and last point of contact for our clients and plays an important role in keeping the hospital running smoothly.

We're looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized receptionist who enjoys helping people and can remain calm and professional in a fast-paced urgent care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and patients and provide a welcoming experience

  • Answer phones and assist with client questions

  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow

  • Check clients in and out and process payments

  • Communicate clearly with the medical team

  • Assist with client forms, records, and follow-up communication

  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area

  • Support the team during busy and urgent situations

What We're Looking For

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations

  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems

  • Veterinary or medical reception experience preferred, but not required

  • Availability for rotating weekends

​Saturday:10AM-6PM (Last appointment/Walk-In at 5PM)​

Sunday-Monday: CLOSED​ 

Holiday Closures:

Jan. 1st, 2nd, July 4th, August 4th-8th, November 26th, nDecember 25th-26th

Early Closures:

December 24th- Close at 4, December 31-Close at 4
